The library possesses original copies of the Hillsdale Herald. The collection is fairly complete from 1929 to 1942 and from 1951 to 1956. We are currently seeking funding in the form of grants and donations to digitize the entire collection. Please contact the director if you are interested in this project.
The newspapers from 1929 to 1942 were digitized and may be searched on-line.
Entering two or more words will result in a search for a phrase (ex. "police Department")
Use an asterisk "*" as a wildcard to truncate words (swim* = swimmer, swimmers, swimming, etc.)
Note: Each issue is approximately 10MB. These files are also available on the library's internal network of public computers. They will display much quicker when viewed within the library
Funding has been made possible in part through grant funds administered by the Bergen County Department of Parks, Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs through a General Operating Support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a Division of Cultural Affairs in the Department of State.
