The library thrives on the active support of its users. Whether it be through direct monetary donations or donations of volunteer time, generous giving permits the library to further enhance its collections and services beyond that permitted by annual municipal support. We invite you to please consider the opportunities below:
Make a donation directly to the library. Donations are tax deductible. Please make all checks payable to "The Hillsdale Free Public Library." You will be sent an acknowledgement letter. Click on this link for our IRS DETERMINATION LETTER (.pdf).
The library concluded its major capital campaign with the grand re-opening in May 2006. There remain several naming opportunities throughout the building. Click on this link to view the original Capital Campaign reply card.
Join the Friends of the Library. A full description of Friends activities will be found on their page.
Place a Book Plate. Monetary donations may be given to the library to honor both the living and the deceased. Materials are selected with the guidance of the donor. Typically, books will be selected that best represent the interest of the individual. If there is no preference, then the library staff will select materials based upon collection needs. The minimum donation is $20. Please print the Bookplate Donation Form and include this with your donation. Acknoweledgements will be sent.
Buy a Book Bag. Let others know you use the library by toting a library book bag. There are two attractive designs to choose from. They offer plenty of room to stow books, DVDs, and CDs. $15 each. Buy a red and green bag for $25.
Buy a mug. We only have a few of these limited edition mugs left! The library celebrated 70 years of public service in 2006. $4 each.
Volunteer. Please refer to our Volunteers page for a full list of opportunities.
